CULTURAL DIVERSITY & EVERYTHING GOOD

Artistrun Gallery

Long Island City

Guest curator: Alan Freshman.

This show celebrates Cultural Diversity from around the world with participants from USA and abroad.  The exhibition depicts rich narratives, folklore, and traditional symbols of diverse cultures.  Roshan Houshmand has incorporated the Kolam symbol from her travels in India and combines the imagery with pieces of mirror.

The work of YoHana Bat Adam decodes simple Biblical stories into visual and practical images that can open the heart and revolutionize one’s perception of reality.  Mithila art is making its premiere in New York with traditional works of art on silk.  The works depict the tales and folklore of Krishna or Supreme Lord.

Eastern Orthodox icon paintings by Veronika Panayotova will complement the show.  They are re-interpretations of 19th century icon paintings from Bulgaria. Freshman Fine Arts Gallery is pleased to present a group show between the sister cities of Beacon and Newburgh
